Kathy Davies O'Leary, President
Kathy is a former president of the Dunning School PTO, is a member of the Gifted and Talented Parent Advisory Committee and the Alliance for Educational Equity. She has also been involved with the Framingham Improvement Association, overseers of Framingham's historic Village Hall. Kathy is an aide at the BLOCKS preschool.
Brenda Crawshaw, Vice President
With past experience including everything from program management with Special Olympics International to administrative management at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Brenda left the corporate world at the birth of her son in 1997 and now spends her time consulting, volunteering in the schools and exploring her creative entrepreneurial interests with paper crafting.
Amy Monahan, Treasurer
Amy is the past treasurer and co-president of the McCarthy Elementary School PTO. She remains active in the PTOs at both McCarthy and Fuller Middle School. She currently works as a paralegal, among other jobs, and has many years experience managing the finances of a small business.
Susan Nicholl, Past President
Susan is the Managing Director of the newly established Massachusetts Nonprofit Network which works to support all types of nonprofit organizations through advocacy, education and various services. She is also a communications consultant and editor for nonprofit organizations. She serves on various nonprofit boards in MetroWest, with a primary emphasis on education.
Members
Jeff Convery
Jeff is a life-long Framingham resident and a graduate of Framingham South High School. Jeff has education in his blood. His father, Ed Convery, was a teacher at the Saxonville school and principal of McCarthy School for 23 years (1968-1991.) His sister, Christine Tibor, a former elementary school ESL teacher, is now the director of Adult ESL in Framingham. Jeff is a teacher and proud member of the Framingham High School Social Sciences department. He is also the co-director of the Peer Leadership program at FHS, designed to raise the awareness of the high school community on issues of bias and racism. A father of three young children (two of whom are in the Framingham public schools), Jeff is honored to be a member of FEF and the worthwhile work it does for Framingham youth.
Mike Gatlin
Mike is an attorney with the Boston law firm of Ruberto, Israel and Weiner. He is a past President of Barbieri School PTO and has been involved with various community groups including the Wayside Youth and Family Support Network, and the Danforth Museum.
Lyn Hoyt
With two grown sons who are successful products of the Framingham School system, Lyn now devotes her time and energy to the Boards of FEF and several local Creative Arts Councils including Framingham's and other civic volunteer opportunities.
Anne O'Connell
Anne has been a staff member for many nonprofit organizations, including the Danforth Museum of Art, the Massachusetts Audubon Society. She is currently a health educator for CHEER, a health and fitness initiative through the Framingham Public Schools. She is an active board member of many other nonprofit organizations. Anne is the mother of a Framingham high-schooler.
Chris Petersen
A prominent real estate broker in MetroWest, Chris has over 30 years of experience and visibility in the community. She has been a Board member of FEF for over eight years. Both her sons received an excellent education in the Framingham School System and she is a Northeastern University and Bentley College proud parent. She continues her volunteer work for the schools.
Larry Wolpe
Born and raised in Framingham, Larry Wolpe is especially proud to be serving on the board of the Framingham Education Foundation. He brings a unique perspective to the board as he teaches fourth grade at the Mary E. Stapleton Elementary School. He is a graduate of Framingham South High School and loves working with fourth graders because of their creativity, curiosity, and their zest for learning. Prior to Stapleton, Larry worked as a special education assistant on the middle school level and spent fifteen years in broadcasting, anchoring, and reporting news around the country.
